Anchor Sealing Assembly
Releasable and re-attachable connection between tubing and permanent packer
Description
This anchor sealing assembly is usually used together with a permanent packer. It allows the string above the packer to be released and re-attached, so that the parts of the string above the packer can be retrieved, maintained or replaced.
Features
- Rotate right to release the string; push the string down to re-attach, and it locks in the re-attached condition — simple operation and reliable re-attachment
- Integral anchor sealing ring is wear-resistant and seals reliably
- Nickel-base alloy anchor ratchet is wear-resistant and resists deformation, so a second re-attachment is reliable
Operation
To release the anchor sealing assembly from the packer, pick up and rotate the string 10–12 turns to the right. When the string is run in a second time to re-attach, slacking off weight makes the thread of the anchor sealing device engage the thread at the top of the packer. Once engaged, the anchor sealing device and packer are securely locked together.
