Flapper Circulating Valve

Safety valve, squeeze valve and circulating valve in one tool

Description

The FLAPPER circulating valve can be used as a safety valve and as a circulating valve with pumping function. It is operated by increasing annulus pressure to the preset burst value of the rupture disc. After the rupture disc bursts, the operating mandrel moves upward to close the flapper and shut off the tubing, and the circulating port above the flapper opens to connect the annulus and the tubing. With the flapper removed, the tool can be used as a shut-off circulating valve.

The FLAPPER circulating valve combines the functions of a safety valve, a squeeze valve and a circulating valve.

Features

  • One-way flapper allows squeeze work to be performed using both annulus and tubing pressure
  • The flapper closes first and the circulating port opens second, which improves operational safety
  • Locking block mechanism ensures that the flapper stays safely closed
