NICE SUMMER Fracturing Valve
Casing-conveyed fracturing valve opened by rupture disc
Description
Run in with the casing, this valve has the same bore as the casing ID. Before operation it acts as a section of casing, preserving casing integrity before fracturing. After cementing, pressure applied to the casing bursts the internal rupture disc; the sealing mandrel moves down to open the circulating port and locks in the circulating position, and the fracturing job can begin.
In staged fracturing, the valve can replace coiled-tubing perforating in the long horizontal section of horizontal wells and first tubing perforating in vertical wells.
Features
- High-strength material
- Rupture disc operation for high reliability
- Runs in as a section of casing, preserving completion string integrity
- High-torque design suited to long horizontal sections
- Large bore
Operation
Pressure applied inside the casing bursts the rupture disc and enters the disc port to move the sealing mandrel; the shear pin is sheared and the mandrel moves down quickly, opening the circulating port it was sealing and forming the flow channel. When the mandrel reaches its limit, the locking dog enters the ring groove in the mandrel and locks it in the port-open position. The fracturing job then begins.
