TRUST Safety Joint & Fishing Tool

Releases the string above a stuck packer and recovers the stuck part

Back to safety joints

Description

A safety tool used to pull out the string above the joint when the packer is stuck; a fishing tool is then run to retrieve the stuck part. The joint reduces losses from sticking and allows the DST information and data to be recovered.

Features

  • Tension sleeves of different ratings can be selected as needed
  • Right-rotation release prevents threads from loosening when the string is disengaged
  • Special fishing tool for easy retrieval of the stuck part

Operation

To release, first pull the string until the tension sleeve breaks, then rotate the string to the right to its limit, lower it and rotate right again. The tool disengages half a turn after every two pull → rotate right → lower → rotate right cycles; repeat until the thread fully disengages.

To fish, run the special fishing tool and engage the safety joint housing. With the thread-type fishing tool, rotate the string to the left until it connects with the safety joint; with the elastic-claw fishing tool, push the string down to connect — which is more convenient.
