Shut-Off Circulating Valve

One-shot valve that seals the lower zone and opens circulation to the upper zone

Description

A one-shot shut-off circulating valve operated by dropping a ball or applying tubing pressure.

When the job in the lower zone is finished, a steel ball is pumped down to the ball seat and pressure is applied to the string. This closes the ball valve to seal off the lower zone and at the same time opens the circulating port. Fluid from the upper zone then flows into the string through the circulating port, and the job on this zone can be carried out.

With the ball valve section removed, the tool can be used as a circulating valve. It is usually run in the lowest zone, where dropping a ball and applying pressure sets all the packers.
