Retrievable open-hole test packer with expanding-shoe element support

Back to packers

Description

Compared with the metal-cup type, this open-hole packer uses expanding shoes to support the rubber element. During setting, the shoes are expanded by pressure and provide a support platform for the element, increasing its sealing pressure capacity.

Operation

The open-hole packer is set by slacking off string weight and released by picking up the string. It can be set directly on bottom; to hang it at a required depth, it is used with the side wall anchor.
