Side Wall Anchor
Borehole-wall anchor that supports the packer in open-hole straddle tests
Description
The side wall anchor is used in open-hole straddle tests. When drilling is complete or has reached a deep zone, electric logs or other methods may identify a potential interval far above the bottom of the hole. Setting a cement plug or running a support tube in this case is time-consuming and costly; instead, the side wall anchor can be used for the straddle test. It is a reliable holder that supports the packer and helps it set.
